Evaporator coil

An evaporator coil is a key component in an air conditioning or refrigeration system, responsible for absorbing heat from the surrounding air. It works in conjunction with the AC compressor and condenser coil to complete the cooling cycle.

How It Works:

1. Refrigerant Flow: The liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator coil through an expansion valve, which reduces its pressure.
2. Heat Absorption: As warm air from the room or vehicle cabin passes over the coil, the refrigerant absorbs heat and evaporates into a gas.
3. Cooling Effect: The cooled air is then circulated back into the room or cabin by a blower fan.
4. Refrigerant Return: The refrigerant gas is sent to the compressor, where it is pressurized and sent to the condenser to release the absorbed heat.

Common Issues:

• Frozen Evaporator Coil (caused by low refrigerant levels, restricted airflow, or dirty coils)
• Dirty Coils (reduces efficiency and cooling performance)
• Leaks (can lead to refrigerant loss and system failure)
